I forgot to mention in my last post about the contactless payment key fob that the system did not work perfectly. One time I stopped and fueled up the car, waved the paypass and went home. About an hour latter a police officer shows up at my house, knocks on the door and tells me that the gas station has reported me as filling the tank and leaving without paying.
It turns out that when I waved the paypass at the pump I thought the light acknowledging payment had come on but it had been a tad difficult to see since the sun was shining on the pump at the time. I guess I got it wrong.
I went back to the station and paid so my arrest was not called for. Crisis averted but a tad more embarrassing than getting your card declined at the checkout.
I suspect with contactless payments that will happen from time to time but what are you going to do, go back to the days of handing cash to a clerk? Gross.
