Judging by the amount of statements being made on the web at the moment it looks like there is either more credit card fraud happening or just more people being vocal about it. Either way, let me again reinforce that a credit card is safer to use than a debit card. If someone gets ahold of your credit card number it does not drain your checking account.
Credit Card Thoughts on the Web
- “My call is being transferred to a “relationship manager,” situation elevated from canceling a credit card to breaking up with someone.”
- “more credit card fraud yay! this is getting tiresome.”
- “babysitter here, i’m gone! credit card reflects when i have sitter too! spending increases dramatically!! happy happy days!! lol”
- “oh dear. 2 hours after i connect the landline, i get my first sales coldcall. it’s BT trying to sell me a credit card. wtf?” [BT = UK phone company]
- “cancelling a credit card that was compromised. aggravating.”
- “I agree in general. Having just seen a student get a $4,000 credit card just by applying, I’m flabbergasted!”
- “I’ve been a victim of credit card fraud. Or i unknowingly spent $275 at a gas station in ATL.”
- “Oh dear god. Wells Fargo (My Credit Card Company) just increased my credit line by $1600 up to $3600… fuck”
- “Wow, after balancing my credit card statement, and questioning a few charges, I found out some1 stole my cc# and been charging porn to it”
- “lol… Somehow someone ordered $1200 of furniture from California to ship to Egypt on my credit card. No freaking clue”
