A Washington, D.C. mother of four daughters, ages 5, 6, 11 and 17, calmly met U.S. Marshals at the door of her two-story brick rowhouse in the 4200 block of Sixth Street SE, D.C. but neglected to mention the four decomposing bodies upstairs.
The home had been foreclosed on in the spring of last year and then sold at auction to the mortgage company. It wasn’t until yesterday that eviction papers were finally served. Neighbors had reported that the mother had been seen dazed and confused recently. It was estimated that her children had been dead for approximately two weeks.
I would not be surprised if it latter surfaces that the mother had been in a case of shock or under the influence of an elevated psychological condition with the impending eviction. She must have known it was coming since the house had already been emptied of all the belongings and furniture.
To make the situation even more bizarre, you can see the former mayor Marion Barry (of “Goddamn setup . . . I’ll be goddamn. Bitch set me up” fame.) in background of the press conference.
