Attracting RSS subscribers to your blog is a bit of a mystery to me, I’m not going to lie. I read a lot of tips and I read a lot of blogs and no magic answer has appeared yet.

I suppose it is like almost everything else and just takes time and the ability for people that like what you have to say to find you. You’ve just got to stick with it, and I am.

I use FeedBurner for my stats and tracking of readers. They seem to add value to the feed and provide me with stats in a helpful format and, it’s free.

Here is my current trend in blog subscribers.

The trend is certainly going in the right direction and as of right now, I’m up to 63 FeedBurner subscribers as I write tis but more also come through the feed link directly on the site. Trying to figure out what the exact number of readers is, is like the answer to the question, “Does anybody really know what time it is?”

What I do know is that I have a goal of breaking 100 subscribers via FeedBurner, not becuase it changes my life in any way, but because it gives me a goal to reach and then set the next goal.

Goals in business are good because they can serve as your cheerleading squad and let you know when things are headed in the right direction, and when they aren’t. But you can’t get too focused on the goal. It is just a target and in business a goal is just a mileage sign and not the destination.

Sometimes you miss your goals and it in no way means you are a failure. It just means you missed your goal. And when you hit the goal it is not a cause to stop working hard or throw a massive party, it is just an imaginary marker to let you know, things are going OK.

While I’m Talking About FeedBurner

For al the love I send to FeedBurner I did come across the following upload box today on their site and I’m still a bit puzzled about the instructions. How wide is the graphic supposed to be? Maybe the instructions make sense or maybe I’m just too dumb to figure them out right now. See what you think the size of the banner is supposed to be.
