Thieves Steal Phone Cable for Money

Just a couple of quick last minute Friday updates.

So the reason I’ve been without internet access at home for almost three days is because there has been an increase in thieves jumping down manholes, cutting telephone cables and striping the wire out to resell for the copper.

Times are tough but please leave the phone lines alone so everyone in my area can at least have phone service.

Another Airlines - ATA, Augers In

A second airlines crashed and burned this week. Aloha Airlines failure was joined by ATA. And again, it is yet another example of why you should NEVER use anything but a credit card to book flight arrangements.

With a debit card the money is sucked out of your account immediately but with a credit card the airlines don’t get the money you’re charged until you fly. Until then the money is held just to protect you against such airline failures.

If you’re an ATA customer and you’re holding one of those now collectible worthless ATA tickets and you paid by credit card, just contact your credit card company and dispute the charge.

If you paid by debit card, you’re just another unsecured creditor and good luck getting any money back in bankruptcy.

Expect more airlines to auger in this year as the sharp sting of escalating fuel charges puts them out of business. And for goodness sake, please, please pay for all airline tickets with a credit card to protect yourself from losing a lot of money f your airline goes bust.
