If I am guilty of anything, it would be in having too many ideas and possibly being so self-righteous on some matters I fail to bend or give humble passage to allow for the populist view to pass without notice.
I have dully noted the feedback among some readers, not all posted for politeness, that criticize me for now publishing a beautiful figure of the female form with each post. My friends, the picture is nothing more than an overt bribe to gaze upon the page for just a moment longer to find some interest in the words therein. Nothing more, nothing less.
When thinking of which images of beauty have the widest appeal and strike at the chemical production inside our brains to make us smile and feel good, almost only one set of possible images can be nominated, those of the beautiful female form. The female body, with gentle curves and rotundaties has since the days of early Greek statues and through the artistic ages, been celebrated as a thing of beauty. And that’s just the way it is.
What is Ugly and Sad
What does strike me and drives me to overt my gaze from disgust is the abuse of our brothers and sisters by others purely in the pursuit of profit and commerce over compassion and understanding. I feel deeply for those suffering through misfortune in their lives that manifest itself in financial tragedy and heartache.
So all I ask is that you allow me to publish an image of beauty with each post so I can bring just a moment of beauty to an otherwise dry and boring topic of personal finance, credit and debt.
A photo of a lovely woman, harms almost no one, except for possibly the self-righteous and ultra moral conservatives. And for that I can only apologize and beg you not to look. If you are looking for a blog filled with staunch conservative values and chants, this isn’t the place to come.
While I welcome the view of all men and women and enjoy the presentation of various points of view, ultimately this blog is not a democracy and I beg your understanding in the choices and decisions that I make here.
Steve
