Well apparently I successfully did it again, learned from my mistakes that is.

Readers of this blog will remember that recently I bought a Suzuki Burgman scooter/motorcycle. It’s called a scooter but it goes 100+ and I’m confused about what to call it. It has a 650cc engine and I need a motorcycle license to ride it. Anyway, I digress.

The Suzuki dealer had a great promotional rate and after discussing it with them I decided to take advantage of it. Only one thing, it seems the loan was actually a retail credit account instead of a vehicle loan. A fact not disclosed at the time.

A retail credit account, like those offered for boob jobs, dental work, 90 day same as cash offers, above-ground pools and spas, floor covering, HVAC, jewelry and apparently a 2008 Suzuki Burgman can fuck your credit report. You see a retail credit account is reported on your credit report as a maxed out loan. The credit limit is reported as the balance of the original loan so it looks like you have spent to your limit and that dings your credit report.

So you see, even the best of us can make a personal finance mistake. Fortunately, I was able to quickly repair my mistake by refinancing the new loan, at an even better rate, through my insurance company, of all places. And they did it as a vehicle loan and now all is well with the world.

A Pair Beats a Full House of Good Advice

I can’t help but chuckle when I look at the blog logs about how a nip slip or pokies picture will pull exponentially more traffic than a post with some wise advice about money issues.

In fact, I was going to hunt for a sexy money related photo but guess what, they’re aren’t any. Personal finance is anything but sexy or erotic, that is unless you’ve used popular Dave Ramsey or Suze Orman (Who I’ve known was a lesbian for the last 10 years and kept my mouth shut about it. Thank God she finally came out about it last year.) advice to amass a cash balance to make some shallow person horny.

And for the record, I don’t know of anyone that got laid by having a big bank balance, only spending it.
