So for some the morning routine is a good cup of coffee. Or if you live in Seattle a triple shot double mocha lite with whipped cream. For me the crutch has always been a Coke in the morning. You get your caffeine and shot of sugar right off the bat. Usually I would drink the coke on my way to work and savor the loveliness that was the morning Coke.
So then I decided that maybe I needed to start watching what I was eating, I knew I needed to make a change to that morning Coke but I did not want to cut it out all together. Hey, if you spill a Coke in your lap you don’t get burned, so it’s actually a safety issue, for some, I guess. It’s short bus coffee!
No matter how much I tried, I just don’t like the taste of Diet Coke. I even tried to fool myself into liking it, but can’t do it. So I tried Coke Zero and found that it was better and more palatable.
Well I just stopped at the gas station to take out a loan to fill the tank and splurged and bought myself a real fountain Coke. A treat I had not had in a while and here is where I’m traumatized, I didn’t like it, it was too sweet. I guess Coke Zero has ruined me now, made me avoid a few calories I didn’t need and satisfy that morning caffeine itch. Thanks Coke for ruining the taste of Coke for me with your Coke Zero.
Measuring Distance in Dollars
With gas prices rising every other day now I’m stuck in measuring distances in dollars. I had never done this before in my life and it is driving me crazy.
“Let’s go to Barb’s”.
In my head I start doing the math. Let’s see Barb’s is 21 miles away and that would take about a gallon of gas each way. That trip to Barb’s is going to cost almost $8. Hum I’m just not quite sure I want to see Barb for $8.
It is 254 miles to my folks. With highway mileage that would take ten gallons or about $40. That’s not too bad. I guess. I certainly love my parents $80 worth.
So in a few minutes I have to leave for the mall so I can meet my instructor at the Apple store for my next One to One class. The mall is 21 miles away, the scooter gets 50 miles per gallon so it will cost me $3.35 to get down and back for my class. See what I mean, I’m stuck in distance for dollars!
